Free Matching Service

Find a Patent Attorney Who Understands Your Research

Not all patent attorneys are the same. The right one knows your technology area, understands the prior art landscape, and can assess your filing options quickly. Tell us about your work and we’ll match you with a specialist — at no cost to you.

If you’ve already published or disclosed your work, enter the date. This helps us assess your filing window.

DOI, PubMed, arXiv, or any link to your published work. Optional but helps us find the right match faster.

By submitting, you agree to be contacted by Patent Advisory regarding your inquiry. We will never share your information with third parties without your consent.

How the matching works

1

You tell us about your research

Technology area, institution, and publication date — enough for us to understand your filing window and find the right match.

2

We find a specialist

We match you with a registered patent attorney who has experience filing in your specific technology classification — not a generalist, a specialist.

3

You connect directly

We introduce you to the attorney. From there, it’s between you and them. No fees from us, no obligation to proceed.

Common questions

Is there a cost?

No. Patent Advisory is funded by the attorney network, not by researchers. There is no fee to be matched with an attorney or to receive an initial assessment.

How quickly will I hear back?

Typically within 1-2 business days. If your filing deadline is approaching, mention it in the notes and we’ll prioritize your match.

What if my TTO is already handling this?

That’s fine — we can connect you with an attorney who can work alongside your TTO or serve as outside counsel if your institution declines to file. Many researchers use both channels.

Am I obligated to work with the attorney you match me with?

No obligation whatsoever. The introduction is provided as a service. You’re free to speak with the attorney, ask questions, and decide entirely on your own terms.
